Choose fairly, decide together.
A new sound system, a cleaning company, carpet for the prayer hall. Too often one board member handles it alone — sometimes without the right knowledge. With Khutba World, a member opens a request, everyone brings in quotes, the community compares, and the board signs off transparently. As it should be.
In most mosques, a quote choice goes like this: one board member asks a friend of a friend, gets one quote, and pays it. Sometimes good, sometimes too expensive, sometimes from someone without the right knowledge. The community pays along but isn't allowed to look — let alone decide.
That can be more transparent. With Khutba World, a member (or board member) opens a quote request in the app. E.g., "Sound system main hall — budget €5,000, deadline May 15." Everyone — members and board — can upload quotes or tip suppliers. Per quote: amount, warranty, delivery time, PDF of the proposal.
Members compare in the app, vote on their preference, and can ask questions in a comment thread. The board sees in real-time which quote gets the most support — advice from the community, not a blind choice. At the end, the board signs off on the final choice, transparently visible to everyone.
For members, it's visibility and voice. For the board, it's backing — no one can complain afterward "why did you choose X" if 30 members voted along. For the mosque as a whole: community spirit, fair decisions, better prices through real competition.
Four steps, one fair choice
A request opens itself, quotes come in, members vote, board signs off. No separate WhatsApp group, no loose emails.
Open request
Member or board opens request with title, description, budget and deadline. Appears immediately in the app for all members — push notification to everyone.
Upload quotes
Everyone brings in quotes. PDF/JPG attachment, amount, warranty, delivery time, brief explanation. Tipping suppliers is also possible — no membership needed to submit proposals.
Members vote
One vote per member, switching allowed. Vote bars visible to everyone. Comment thread per request for questions, remarks, experiences with suppliers.
Board signs off
Final choice lies with board — vote is advice. Status "chosen" is publicly visible with justification. Afterward, who voted for what is traceable forever.
For the board: backing, no surprises
The board sees in real-time which quote gets the most support. Comment thread catches concerns early. Decision with community advice is always accountable afterward.
For the member: contribute, vote, trace
In the Khutba World app under the mosque page, a member opens the "Quotes" tab. There are all open requests. Clicks on one, sees all submitted quotes with PDF, compares prices and warranty, votes on their preference. Asking questions is possible via comment thread.
