Clear agreements,
no surprises

• Khutba World: Emerald BV, established in the Netherlands, provider of the service under the brand name Khutba World.
• Service: the website, web application, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and all functionality offered under the name Khutba World.
• User: any natural person who uses the Service, with or without an account.
• Mosque account: an account for a mosque or Islamic organization with access to the dashboard and live translation functionality.
• Subscription: a paid plan that provides access to premium functionality.
• Content: all texts, audio, translations, summaries, and knowledge base materials within the Service.

These terms and conditions apply to all use of the Service. By using Khutba World — by creating an account, opening the app, or visiting the website — you accept these terms.

Deviating terms apply only if expressly agreed upon in writing.

An account is required for certain functionality. Upon registration, you declare that:

• You are at least 16 years old
• You will provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You will notify us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account

We reserve the right to refuse or block accounts in case of violation of these terms.

You agree to the following:

• To use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not to share content that is offensive, hateful, or illegal
• Not to attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service
• Not to use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without written permission
• Not to commercially reuse content from the Service without permission

• Free features: basic translations and the knowledge base are available free of charge without payment obligation.
• Premium subscriptions: paid plans grant access to additional functionality. Prices are listed at /pricing.
• Billing: payments are processed via Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew monthly or annually until cancelled.
• VAT: all prices include VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.
• Cancellation: you can cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Amounts already paid will not be refunded, except where required by law.

As a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days after entering into a distance contract. You can exercise this right by sending us an unequivocal statement via support@khutba.world.

Please note: once you start using the digital service within the withdrawal period and give explicit consent for this, the right of withdrawal expires.

Additional terms apply to mosques:

• The mosque is responsible for informing its visitors that sermons are being translated and that audio is being processed.
• The mosque warrants that it has obtained the necessary consent from speakers (imams) to have their speech processed.
• The mosque may only use the Khutba World system for translations during religious services and related activities.
• The mosque is solely responsible for the hardware it connects to the system.

All rights to the Service, including software, design, knowledge base content, translations, and summaries, belong to Khutba World or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use.

Texts from the Quran, hadith, and classical scholars are part of the common cultural heritage. Our specific translations, summaries, and cross-references are protected.

Khutba World uses AI for real-time translations and summaries. Although we strive for high quality:

• Translations may contain errors or differences in interpretation
• AI summaries are intended as an aid, not as a replacement for listening to the full sermon
• AI-generated references to the Quran and hadith are indicative — consult a scholar if in doubt
• We accept no liability for religious or legal decisions made based on AI output

We aim for a minimum availability of 99% for the Service. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

For mosque accounts with active live sermons, we make additional efforts to ensure availability during Friday afternoon (jumu'ah).

Khutba World is not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage, loss of profit, loss of data, or damage resulting from incorrect translations or summaries, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

Our total liability per event is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event, up to a maximum of €500.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for damages for which exclusion is not permitted by law (such as damages caused by intent, gross negligence, or product liability).

We may update these terms. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email or an in-app notification. If you do not agree to the new terms, you may cancel your account.

You can cancel your account at any time via account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access in case of:

• Breach of these terms
• Fraud or abuse
• Non-payment of amounts due
• Legal obligation

These terms and any use of the Service are governed by Dutch law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. Consumers always retain the rights granted to them under mandatory law.
